Are You the Real Beggars to Take Advantage of Kindness

It was Sunday and Laura went shopping with friend on city center. When they saw beggars on the street, they passed by quickly without any hesitation. Because they all knew that now most beggars are fakes. They didn’t go to work and just lived on cheating others. Laura looked down upon such kind of people.

The process of shopping was quite pleasant for Laura bought several beautiful dresses. They walked out happily out of the shopping center and found a crowd of people in front of the building. What happed? They walked quickly to have a look. A girl about ten years old with tattered clothes kneeled down, with a big paper on her hand. On the paper, it says:”I am a poor gir from country and I went to this city to find my parents. Relatives said they worked here, but I could not find them anymore. My money was stolen by the thief and I have no money to go back home now. Please, please help me. I just want to go home.”

The surrounded people talked about this girl: someone said she must be a cheat just to earn money without any offer; someone said they should inform policemen and asked them to help this girl no matter she was cheat or not; someone said it may be true for the girl looked so poor…

Laura thought for a while and decided to take out the remained change to the girl. But her colleague said to her:”Do not be so foolish. The best way is to call policemen. Let’s continue shopping.” Laura wanted to say something but she gave up. Laura was kind-hearted but she had been cheated for many times. Once, an old woman asked five dollars to go home and said she would return back as she arrived at home. However, there was no any response. It seemed that strangers were not reliable any more in the world. They took advantage of the goodness of people to cheat money.

Laura walked in front of the girl and took out ten dollars to her and said:”I really hope you could go back home, really.” Laura did this just not to kill the remained little goodness in her heart. Although she knew that she may be cheated again, she did not want to make herself cool in heart.
